Christmas at Middachten

A tradition which many visitors come back for year after year is Middachten Castle’s Christmas Opening. This year Middachten will be transformed into a beautiful Christmas setting for the 21st time, one definitely not to be missed!

 

The rooms and halls in the castle are all beautifully decorated. And outside the candles are burning, the fire baskets are glowing and there is a bustling atmosphere. A small scale Christmas market with handmade products has been set up in the stableblock.

It goes without saying that a real Christmas atmosphere should always include Christmas Carols and midwinter horn players.

 

We have therefore organised several performances during Middachten’s Christmas Opening.

• Saturday afternoon, 12th December 2009: Christmas Carols
• Sunday afternoon, 13th December 2009: horn players are present to sound their midwinter horns against the angry spirits of the imposing winter.
