Exhibition ‘cows in watercolor’

 

The Dutch painter Wiebe van der Zee specializes in painting cows. He finds these animals fascinating: their curious eyes, their big noses. He finds them beautiful.

The gardens of castle Middachten boast a very rich history, which is why the guided tour is well worth doing.

 

One of our garden guides will tell you all about how the gardens were created, who designed the gardens and how many meters of hedge are pruned every year.  In short:  you will get to see the gardens from a completely different perspective.

Entrance: the guided tour is free when you buy a ticket for the gardens:                      adults € 5,00, children up to 12 years old € 2,50

Middachten Castle’s beautiful and unique gardens are open to the general public from 15 May to 15 September 2010. You can stroll around at your leisure from Sunday to Thursday and view the gardens.

 

There is so much to see: a rose garden with old roses, a herb garden, a large border with beautiful permanent plants, extraordinary trees and fantastic looking lanes. You will also find an old fashioned tennis court and a real croquet field in the gardens. In short, the garden is certainly worth a visit! More pictures>>
